Using the video recorder and video library to send video messages

Video Library Subscription Limits

• There is a limit on the count of videos that can be stored in the video library for an account which is based on the pricing plan for that account.
• Our current pricing plans have allocations for a certain number of videos in your library but some of our legacy pricing plans will not have an allocation. 
• Please check your Brokerkit billing page here to see what the limits are by the pricing plan
• To increase video limits, upgrade to a current pricing  plan on the Brokerkit billing page here or contact help@getbrokerkit.com for assistance

Follow these steps to begin using the video recording feature when sending emails:

Start Recording, Uploading, and Sending Videos

• First, select any contact and click on the email button in the top left corner
• Notice in the toolbar for the email body content that there is a new button to insert video

• Click on the icon to open up the insert video options:
  • Record a video
  • Upload new video
  • Choose a video
• Note: If this is your first time, you will be prompted to allow access to your camera and mic.

Record a Video

• From the Insert a Video window, click the Record a Video button near the top
• Click the Red Circle 🔴  on the screen to begin recording
  • There is a 10-minute recording limit
  • Click the Red Circle 🔴  on the screen again to end the recording or press pause as needed 
    • Note: The amount of recordings you can create, save, and send is based on your account subscription 
• Once complete, you can preview the recording, and re-record it if needed
  • Below the preview, you can name the video and add any additional text to display
  • Check the box ✅ on the right to create an animated thumbnail (GIF)
• Click the green Save button to store the video, this allows you to send it initially and again later
• Once the upload is complete, click the green Insert Video button
• Your video thumbnail should display and is ready to be sent

Upload New Video

• From the Insert a Video window, click the Upload New Video button near the top
• Click the large upload data section to add data, or drag a file into this area to add data
  • Be sure that your files are in the proper format: mp4, mpg, mov, avi, flv, mpeg, wmv, m4v
• Once the upload is complete, you can preview the recording, and re-upload it if needed
  • Below the preview, you can name the video and add any additional text to display
  • Check the box ✅ on the right to create an animated thumbnail (GIF)
• Click the green Save button to store the video, this allows you to send it initially and again later
• Click the green Insert Video button
• Your video thumbnail should display and is ready to be sent

Choose a Video

• From the Insert a Video window, click the Choose a Video button near the top
• Here you can select a video that you have saved to your library
  
  • Use the search bar to find a video, or use the dropdown to find videos by owner
• Select the video you wish to add, then click the green Insert Video button
• Your video thumbnail should display and is ready to be sent

Recording & Uploading videos on a Phone or Tablet

• The video recording features also work when you log in from your phone or tablet
  • Record a new video from your device, or select videos you already have saved on your phone or tablet to upload and send

How to Update Browser Permissions To Allow Video & Microphone Recording

Safari:

1. In the menu bar, select Safari -> Preferences.
2. Click the Websites tab.
3. In the list on the left, select Camera.
4. Find getbrokerkit.com, and be sure the camera permissions are set to either Allow or Ask.
5. Next, go to the Microphone section and do the same thing.

6. Now, refresh the page and when you click to open the video recorder, if you see this popup, select Allow -- we will only access your camera and microphone while you are on the getbrokerkit.com site and recording.

Chrome:

1. Open Chrome and select the three vertical dots in the upper-right corner.

2. Select Settings.

   1. Tip: You can use a keyboard shortcut to access the Settings menu. On Windows, press Alt+F or Alt+E, or F10, followed by the Spacebar. On a Mac, press Command+, (comma).

3. Choose the Privacy and security section.

4. Scroll down and select Site Settings.

5. In the Permissions section, select Camera, which contains the Camera and Microphone options.

6. Activate the Sites can ask to use your camera option. Repeat the process for the microphone and activate the Sites can ask to use your microphone option.

Firefox:

Change camera permissions:

1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox and select Preferences.
2. Click Privacy & Security from the left menu.
3. Scroll down to the Permissions section.
4. Click the Settings… button for the Camera option.
   1. Firefox displays the websites with saved Allow or Block permission.
5. Use the Allow/Block selector to change permission for the website. You can remove the site by selecting it from the list and clicking the Remove Website.
6. Select the Block new requests asking to access your camera checkbox if you do not want to give any other sites access to your camera.
7. Click the Save Changes button.

Change microphone permissions:

1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox and select Preferences.
2. Click Privacy & Security from the left menu.
3. Scroll down to the Permissions section.
4. Click the Settings… button for the Microphone option.
   1. Firefox displays the websites with saved Allow or Block permission.
5. Use the Allow/Block selector to change permission for the website. You can remove the site by selecting it from the list and clicking the Remove Website.
6. Select the Block new requests asking to access your microphone checkbox if you do not want to give any other sites access to your microphone.
7. Click the Save Changes button.
