When performing a search in Brokerkit, the search algorithm works very much like a Google search.
If you search on a name like Paula Williams (without double-quotes), each word will be divided into several parts, and every part of this word will be applied to the search.
For instance: Paula Williams - the example produces the following terms: [Pau, aul, ula, Wil, ill, lli, lia, ams] - and the result will be given to you of a search for these terms. Imagine that there is a lead/agent on your list named James Williamson - this lead/agent will also be displayed in your search result as the word contains similar parts.
If you want to return an exact match such as on the name Paula Williams, you will need to enclose the name with double-quotes like below. Once you enclose the name with double quotes, you will find that it returns only records that have that exact phrase match in them.
