By design, Brokerkit keeps followups and Smart Campaigns separate. When developing Brokerkit, we looked at the CRM's our clients were using and found that, if the CRM was automatically setting a followup, the task was less likely to get accomplished. Virtually every system that used automatically set followups was backed up to the point of being unusable.
We recommend that, while you're applying a Smart Campign to leads either individually or en mass, you also go ahead and set a followup date.
